FILE TRANSFER AUTOMATION

When the files are ready,
the transfer starts on its own.

Send files every day at a set time, or the moment a new file is created.

INNORIX runs file transfers between your servers and cloud storage on a schedule or an event, and operates everything from a repeating job to a multi-step transfer on one platform.

SCHEDULED TRANSFERS

Every day, every week,
at the time you choose.

Automate the backups, data collection and file distribution that have to run at a set time.

Set the schedule once and the transfer repeats hourly, daily, weekly or monthly without anyone starting it.

EVENT-DRIVEN TRANSFERS

A new file appears,
and it is transferred automatically.

When a new file lands in a watched folder, or an event you configured occurs, the transfer you need can start by itself.

Use it to collect data from production equipment, to connect systems, and to deliver working data close to real time.

CONDITIONAL TRANSFERS

The files to send are chosen
by condition, automatically.

Set conditions on file name, extension or size so that only the files you need are transferred.

Collect one file type only, leave the rest out, and apply different conditions to different jobs.

CHAINED AUTOMATION

When one transfer finishes,
the next one follows.

A transfer can be set to start as soon as the one before it completes.

Connect server-to-server sequences, data that passes through several systems, and step-by-step file processing into one automated flow.

RELIABLE EXECUTION

An interrupted transfer
does not start over.

When the network drops or a destination is briefly unavailable, the transfer can retry or carry on from where it stopped, according to its state.

Apply a recovery policy so that an automated transfer does not repeat the whole job because of a temporary failure.

MONITORING & CONTROL

Every automated transfer,
managed in one place.

See the progress, results and failures of transfers started by a schedule or an event in INNORIX Studio.

Follow the record of a single transfer or a multi-step flow, run what needs running again, and check how the automation is behaving.

GET STARTED

Set it once, and let it run.

In INNORIX Studio, choose the devices and paths to transfer, then set the schedule or the event. Once the automation is active, transfers run on the conditions you gave.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

What is file transfer automation?

File transfer automation moves files on a schedule or an event you set in advance, without anyone starting the transfer each time. INNORIX supports schedules, events, condition-based file selection and chained transfers.

Can I schedule file transfers in INNORIX?

Yes. Set a transfer schedule in INNORIX Studio and the transfer runs automatically every hour, day, week or month at the time you choose.

Can a transfer start automatically when a new file is created?

Yes. You can configure event-driven automation so that a transfer starts when a new file is detected in a given location. The exact detection conditions and timing depend on the connected device and its settings.

What is the difference between a scheduled and an event-driven transfer?

A scheduled transfer runs at a set time; an event-driven transfer runs when something happens, such as a new file being created or an earlier job completing. Choose either, or use both, according to the work.

Can I transfer only files of a certain extension or size?

Yes. Filter conditions on file name, extension and size let you transfer only the files you need. Include and exclude conditions can narrow the set further.

Can transfers run automatically between a server and cloud storage?

Yes. Scheduled and event-driven transfers can be configured between the servers and object storage endpoints INNORIX supports. The actual connection and transfer method follow what each system allows.

Can files be distributed to, or collected from, several servers automatically?

Yes. Distributing files from one server to many devices, or collecting files from many servers into a central system, can be automated. The targets and the conditions are configured in Studio.

Can the next transfer start automatically once the first one completes?

Yes. Make the completion of one transfer the condition for the next and several steps of file movement run in order. Whether a failure stops the chain is part of the policy you set.

What happens to an automated transfer when the network drops?

INNORIX can recover an interrupted transfer or carry it on from where it stopped. Automatic retry and recovery behave according to the kind of failure and the policy in place.

Can a failed automated transfer be run again?

You can check the state of a failed transfer and retry it, or run what is needed again. Depending on the recovery policy it can carry on from the point of interruption or handle only the files that are missing.

Where can I see the record of automated transfers?

In Runs in INNORIX Studio, where the state, progress, results and failures of transfers started by a schedule or an event are kept.

Do I have to write a script to use file transfer automation?

Basic schedules, events and transfer conditions are configured in INNORIX Studio, so not every automation needs a script. Complex integration with an outside business system may still call for additional API work or development.
