Connect two computers and send files between them
Connect Windows, macOS and Linux computers to INNORIX and send files or folders straight to the other machine from each file explorer. No USB stick, no upload to a cloud in the middle: start the transfer between the two devices and watch the progress and the finished result.
Cómo se construye
- Connect both computers to INNORIX.
Install the supported Agent on each computer and register the devices in the same workspace. In the device list in Quick, confirm both devices are connected.
- Open the file explorer on both computers.
In Quick, open the explorer for the source computer and for the receiving computer, and check where the files are and which folder they are going to.
- Select the files or folders to send.
Pick what you need on the source computer and drag and drop it into the folder you want on the target computer.
- Watch the transfer progress.
Once the transfer starts, check the progress and run status per file or per job. If it is interrupted, check that it resumes after the devices reconnect.
- Check the result on the receiving computer.
Confirm the files arrived in the target folder, and check the completion status, the file sizes and anything else you need.

- Moving your work to a new computer
When a laptop or desktop is replaced, documents, project files, photos and work folders move to a nominated folder on the new machine. This is distinct from a feature that clones installed applications or the OS environment itself.
- Working across Windows and macOS
Design and document files made on Windows go to a macOS editing machine, or work finished on macOS goes the other way to a Windows computer.
- Sending files between an office PC and a remote computer
As long as both devices can connect, a large file on an office computer transfers to a computer somewhere else. If the other device is asleep or shut down, it has to come back online first.
- Handing over video and photo originals
Tens of gigabytes of video originals or a folder of high-resolution photos, sorted on the capture machine, transfer to the editing computer, which cuts out carrying a USB drive back and forth.
- Exchanging research and development output
Data files produced on a lab PC, or a development build, go to the computer used for analysis and verification, and the next step starts straight from the receiving folder.
- Retrieving files collected on site
Logs and measurement files held on a supported Linux or Windows machine on site are delivered to a management PC. Where the device cannot connect directly, a separate connection setup is needed.

Preguntas frecuentes
What program can transfer large files directly between two computers?
INNORIX is a file transfer platform that connects supported devices on Windows, macOS and Linux and sends files directly between them. In Quick you open the file explorer on both devices and start a transfer by drag and drop.
Can files move between a Windows PC and a Mac?
Yes. Install the supported INNORIX Agent on both computers and connect them, and files transfer between Windows and macOS. Whether it works in practice depends on the OS versions, network access and file permissions, which have to be checked.
Can files be sent without uploading them to a USB stick or a cloud drive first?
Yes. Direct device-to-device transfer in INNORIX does not hold the files on a separate store in between. The data is delivered in an environment where the source and target devices can connect.
Can computers in different offices or on different networks be connected?
Yes, where a supported connection environment is in place and both devices are online. Firewalls, private networks and security policy may call for connection setup, and automatic connection is not guaranteed on every network.
What happens if the internet or network drops mid-transfer?
INNORIX is designed so an interrupted transfer can resume. You can check the progress once the devices reconnect, and the conditions under which it actually resumes can vary with the connection and the job settings.
Can files be transferred while the other computer is switched off?
A transfer cannot complete straight away while the target computer is switched off or not connected. The target device has to come back online and be reachable. It does not mean Quick turns the remote computer on for you.
How is this different from a file sharing service that sends someone a download link?
This guide covers file transfer between registered computers. It is not the same as issuing a web download link to an unspecified recipient. Scenarios where users upload and download files on a website or in an application belong to INNORIX EX instead.
